Availability

Frames are available on all plans, incl. Freemium.

What are Frames?

Frames allow you to organize your board with many mini boards. This may look like this:

Frame 1: Introduction

Frame 2: Results

Frame 3: Conclusion

Each frame has content. Similar to a table cell. That content

  • moves with the frame
  • is hidden with the frame
  • is duplicated with the frame
  • is sent to back/ brought to front with the frame
  • is exported and saved as a template with the frame

Thus, the frame behaves, to a certain extent, as a separate mini board embedded in your actual board.

You cannot do nested frames. It may look like a frame-in-frame, but eventually it is just two superimposing objects.

Create a frame

Frames live in the main toolbox on the left hand side of the board:

You can choose from a variety of frame templates. Select your template, move the cursor over your board and add by a simple click or scale immediately to have your custom size right away.

Create frame from any selection

The context menu of any selection features

If executed, the content will fit to the new frame and positioned at the center:

Edit frames

Give your frame a title

Each frame comes with the default title Frame. Click the title or somewhere on the frame to activate the frame (the context menu shows and the border highlights). Start typing a title. It will replace the default title or any other title. You can remove the title any time.

You have removed the title and are now wondering how to get it back?

No problem!

Just activate the frame, start typing and it will come back.

Use the context menu

Each frame features the standard More context menu you are used to from other objects types, like notes or images

You may also use duplicate, delete, arrange, or change the background color on your frame. Additionally, you may change the frame ratio.

Center content to frame

Select Center content on the frame context menu to center the content and preserve the frame size:

Fit frame size to content size

Select Fit to content on the frame context menu to shrink the frame size down to the size of its content:

Use frames

Frames are predestined as organizers!
Regard them as containers to collect and carry your content and to effectively separate it from other content on your board.
