Arrange Objects

Learn how to arrange your board objects: align, distribute, cluster, order.

Align

Goal: align the selected objects to a mutual reference, typically an alignment line.

Context menu feature

Precondition: select at least two objects

Action: while selected, use the context menu and select Arrange content. You will find six different alignment options:


Result: the selected objects will be align according to the option you chose. In the example above Vertical bottom will yield:

Alignment lines

Select any object and move it around. Red alignment lines will show when neighboring objects are detected. These lines will help you align the selected object with its neighbors.
Alignment lines are always ON.

Alignment distance

In addition to the alignment lines, you can also display the distance to the nearest neighbors to get very accurate/ equidistant results.
Navigate to the Settings and activate the Alignment distance setting:

Distribute

Goal: distribute selected objects on the x- or y-axis equidistantly

Precondition: select at least three different objects

Action: while selected, use the context menu and select Arrange content. You distribute the selection horizontally and vertically:

To get neat results you will need to combine the distribution with alignment. Align left and you will get:

Distribution is typically coupled with alignment. A distribution alone will only ever space the selection equidistant along the x- or y-axis. The distribution will always happen between the lowest/highest or leftmost/rightmost objects, respectively.

Cluster

Goal: group and align selected objects in a neat cluster

Precondition: select several objects

Action: while selected, use the context menu and select Arrange content and then Cluster:

Choose how you want to cluster:

Order

Goal: change the z-index of the selection = bring it forward or send it backward

Precondition: select at least one object

Action: while selected, use the context menu and select Order. You will find four options
