General Settings in Collaboard

The General settings apply to the currently opened board. Here you control how your whiteboard behaves, looks, and is secured.

These settings are useful for workshops, meetings, or retrospectives, as you can adjust the board to your specific needs and workflow.

How to open the General settings

  1. Click the three dots menu in the top right corner
  2. Select Settings
  3. Stay in the General tab

 

 

Sections of the General settings

The General settings are divided into three sections. Each section controls a different aspect of your whiteboard:

 

Interaction

Here you define how you interact with the board.

Typical settings:

  • Pen auto detect: Automatically detects a pen and distinguishes it from a mouse
  • Touchpad mode: Optimizes navigation when using a touchpad
  • Double click to add object: Adds objects with a double click
  • Alignment distance: Helps align objects precisely

Visual

Here you adjust the appearance of your board.

Typical settings:

  • Appearance: Choose between Light, Dark, or System
  • Object gradients: Adds gradients to sticky notes for a 3D effect
  • Embed transparency: Controls how embedded content is displayed
  • Activate grid and Snap to grid: Supports structured layouts
  • Background color: Changes the board background color

Security

Here you manage access and protection of your board.

Typical settings:

  • Protect project data: Prevents copying, downloading, or exporting
  • Internal project: Limits access to organization members only
  • Lock project: Prevents changes on the board
  • Archive project: Moves the board to the archive
